Club & Societies at School

Chamber Choir

A small choir made up of the very best singers from the Full Choir. As well as performing in school concerts, we also sing at venues in London and the south-east, as well as singing Choral Evensong in cathedrals. In Summer 2023 we sang at Portsmouth Cathedral, St Catharine's College Cambridge, and went on tour to France and Spain. Membership of the Chamber Choir is by invitation only.

Chamber Music

A chamber music ensemble for advanced players, by invitation only. Recent repertoire has included Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 7, Ravel’s Piano Trio, Haydn’s ‘Emperor’ String Quartet and Poulenc’s Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano.

Chamber Orchestra

Chamber Orchestra is for the most advanced orchestral string players at School, occasionally augmented by senior wind or brass players as required. Chamber concertos, suites, serenades and string orchestra repertoire from a huge canon of works composed over the last 300 years are performed at major concerts each term, including the Autumn Concert and the Merchant Taylors' Hall Concert. Membership of the Chamber Orchestra is by invitation only.
