Club & Societies at School

Welcome to Merchant Taylors’ School Co -Curricular Activities Booklet!

In this booklet, you will find information on all the co-curricular activities on offer for the Summer Term at MTS. They are listed alphabetically but the index page also lets you know which activities are available to which year groups – if it is not specified, the activity is available to ALL students. The year groups are labelled as Years 7 to 13, which in MTS ‘language’ is as follows:

• Year 7 – 3 rd Form • Year 8 – U3rd Form • Year 9 – 4 th Form • Year 10 – Divisions • Year 11 – 5 th Form • Year 12 – L6 th Form • Year 13 – U6 th Form

There are always so many things going on at MTS – we want you all to find your niche and get involved in a variety of activities during your time here. Not only is there sport on Saturdays and Outdoor Education on Fridays and Sundays, but there are also activities happening every lunchtime of the week and most days after school as well. If you have any queries about any of the activities, please contact the staff member who is listed as the ‘Lead Staff/Contact’ in the booklet and they will be happy to give you more information. If you wish to start up your own club, please speak to Mr Greenaway or Miss Trafford who will be able to help you. Most importantly, get involved! You will learn new things, make new friends and have new, interesting and exciting experiences along the way!

The Co-Curricular Programme aims to:

• Support the development of well-rounded, interesting pupils and promote honesty, diversity, hard work, confidence, loyalty, leadership, self-esteem, service and enjoyment; • Help pupils make memories and forge friendships for life; • Provide a breadth and balance of activities.
