Concordia 2025
Concordia Winter 2024
Dr Lee served as the seventh Head from 1997 to 2015 and is credited with the expansion of facilities (including the AstroTurf pitch, science block, Lalani New Barn Theatre, music block and new Dining Hall) as well as increasing the School’s reputation. He introduced rugby as one of the major sports and in 2015 the team reached the national U13 Cricket finals for the first time. Dr Lee will be remembered as the last Head of Northwood Prep and as a keen supporter of music, drama and sport. Externally, Dr McNerney will be regarded as the first Head of Merchant Taylors’ Prep after the merger with MTS in 2015 and as the first female Head of School rather than as the eighth Head. Her nine years of headship followed 14 years in leadership roles, initially as Head of Middle School (Y3/4) then Head of Pre-Prep.

Farewell portrait, 2024
The School welcomes Mr Miles Chester as the second Head of MTP and ninth Head overall. Andrew Crook, Deputy Head (with acknowledgement to school archivists and photographers past and present)
This background was instrumental in continuing an upwards-looking school rather than adopting the top-down approach of some prep schools. Internally, she is remembered by staff as an educationalist, and her legacy includes the Francis Terry Building which opened in 2021. In acknowledgement of her distinguished service as Head, her portrait, like those of her predecessors, hangs in the Oliver Bangham Dining Hall.
