O ver the past 12 months, over 3,500 OMTs, former staff, parents, parents of OMTs and friends have registered for events at school and beyond! It has been wonderful to see familiar faces, as well as those who haven’t been back to school for some time. In support of the school activities, we have helped to host careers fairs such as the STEM fair, coaching sessions for parents, a reunion for former cast members of West Side Story , the memorable opening of the Julian Hill Cricket Centre in April and the Triennial Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in October. Over 190 OMTs returned to school for a reunion in the summer of 2024. Many had not returned since leaving school decades ago. We are always delighted to welcome former SCR to our reunions, and we had the opportunity to celebrate John Pallant’s milestone birthday in December 2024 with almost a hundred of his former pupils. What a legacy! We have held two City and Business Network receptions, with the event in November 2024 kindly supported and hosted by Dominic Mac and PwC. The City and Business Network was

established in 2013, followed by the biennial Medicine and Dentistry Convention and groups for STEM and the Arts and Creative industries. Connections made through these groups have the potential to provide real value to the Merchant Taylors’ community of pupils, staff, OMTs, parents and friends. In some cases, these connections have led to new jobs, expanded business networks — and simply to making new friends and catching up with familiar faces from the school. These events often reach capacity within hours, and there is demand to hold more. So, if you would like to be involved in hosting a network event in the future, please email the development team. This year’s OMT Society Annual Dinner was held in the Merchant Taylors’ Hall. There have also been gatherings in Kent and York as well as the Guildhall for the City Luncheon Club. Our London Drinks events have proved a very popular new initiative; watch the events page for more dates in the future. Thank you to everyone who has come to one of our events this year.
