Julian Hill Cricket Centre

Concordia Winter 2022

On a lovely summer’s evening, on 18th May 2022 the school presented plans for the Julian Hill Cricket Centre at a campaign launch event. Around 200 OMTs, parents of MTS and MTP, and friends of the school, gathered to hear from the Head Master, the Director of Cricket, and Middlesex County Cricket Club CEO, Andrew Cornish (OMT 1979-1984), about these exciting plans. The Centre, which will be a world-class cricket facility – the best of its kind in the country – was brought to life on the occasion with the premiere of a virtual fly-through video of the building, which was greeted by a spontaneous round of applause from the assembled guests. You can see this video on our website now. Also available on this site is a full campaign presentation, featuring staff and pupils of the school, Angus Fraser (Development Director, MCCC) and playing staff from MCCC and the Sunrisers. The video sets out the vast array of benefits to cricket, but also to hockey – located adjacent to the hockey pitches, it provides a fantastic vantage point from which to view hockey. Finally, it sets out the benefits to our future bursary provision – potentially the equivalent impact of a £5.5m bursary endowment. The Centre will be a home for all MTS cricketers, not just elite players; it will become the base for all MCCC’s indoor training, including the Sunrisers; and it will be a huge community asset – local
