Peer Coaching: Sixth Formers step up to support younger pupils Lower Sixth students have begun training as Peer Coaches, launching Merchant Taylors’ new Peer Coaching Programme. Each will mentor a younger pupil, meeting regularly to discuss wellbeing, goals, friendships and confidence. Building on Merchant Taylors’ strong tradition of leadership and community, the initiative fosters reflection and mutual support. As Udhay (Lower Sixth) said, ‘It’s important to help younger pupils overcome obstacles and ask questions of themselves’. Ansh (Lower Sixth) agrees: ‘Coaching helps you gather your thoughts. I’d love to give back and help them thrive’. Xander (Lower Sixth) added, ‘It’ll be great to see myself in someone I’m coaching and watch them succeed’. Through this initiative, Sixth Formers are developing empathy, communication and leadership skills that will serve them well beyond their school years.

A Midsummer to remember The entire Third Form brought Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life in the Head Master’s garden — an enchanting evening of humour, music and creativity that perfectly captured Merchant Taylors’ vibrant spirit.

U15s crowned national champions

Merchant Taylors’ cricket reached a remarkable milestone this summer as the U15A team captured the School’s second ever national title, defeating Trent College in the ESCA National Cup Final. Battling back from 20–3, the boys showed grit, flair and teamwork to lift the trophy — crowning Taylors’ the best of over 1100 schools, an early sign of the impact of the Julian Hill Cricket Centre.
