They had recently taken over a French bank (CCF) and ran their rates business from Paris, so the languages continued to be useful. Over the next 6 years he worked primarily on fixed income trading platforms and became knowledgeable on certain systems (e.g. ION and Murex). In 2010 he was approached by Lloyds who were building out their electronic trading platform and they hired him as a business analyst. Within 6 months, he was promoted to lead the development team.
