Contingent Commander’s Report

and holidays will see RN cadets out on the lake, paddling and paddleboarding, as well as a sailing trip to the Isle of Wight. The Army will conduct weapons training with the cadet rifles in our indoor range, and the RAF Section will prepare the senior cadets for leadership roles. We have another static-line parachute jump booked at Netheravon in June, and the Adventure Training Camp in Snowdonia during the summer holidays. I would like to finish by expressing my gratitude to everyone who contributes to the seamless functioning of the CCF: the dedicated cadet force adult volunteers, non-uniformed volunteers, and, of course, our exceptional cadets. Consequently, our presence in the public eye visibly increases. Nowadays, only the Band of the Royal Marines and Merchant Taylors’ CCF form the core military squads at this parade of international significance. On Inspection Day, our Reviewing Officer was Lt Cdr Andrew Carey RNR, based at HMS Wildfire. Our connection with Wildfire is increasingly strong and our RN cadets take part in their equivalent parade – Annual Ceremonial Divisions. Their Ship’s Company
