TAYLORIAN 2024 RUGBY
U16A
P: 10 / W: 8 / D: 0 / L: 2 / F-A: 273-106 / PD: 167 The U16A season proved to be a resounding success, marked by consistently exceptional performances and notable achievements. Standout moments include remarkable triumphs against Skinners’ School (played under the lights during Rugby Week), and St Albans, both of which showcased the team’s determination and resilience. The team was also blessed with strength in depth this season – over twenty-six boys represented the U16A team – which proved crucial in overcoming challenges posed by injuries. Beyond the results, the season provided a platform for individual player development. Three players seized the opportunity to participate in senior rugby for the school, gaining valuable experience at a higher level. Additionally, a multitude of team members engaged in training sessions with the 1st and 2nd teams. Over the course of the season many boys stepped up and contributed both on and off the pitch, but special thanks must be given to the leadership group of James Dyer U16B/C The U16Bs and U16Cs have had a good season and made significant progress since September. From the outset the boys showed excellent motivation and worked hard to improve their handling and strategic plays. As the season went on, the number of injuries increased, but the squad demonstrated great resilience and played good rugby in every fixture. A consistently excellent attitude in training allowed the squad to develop the quality and complexity of their attacking plays, and they posed a serious threat to the opposition in every match. There were plenty of outstanding performances across the entire squad, but special mentions should go to Theo Hancock and Reece Vecchi for their impressive leadership in the backs, and James Shah for his command of the forwards. Rodrigo Carruthers Hintze played superbly at scrum-half and consistently disrupted his opposite number’s rhythm with his hard and fast tackling. Noah Lomas – who spent much of the season injured – made a significant P: 10 / W: 6 / D: 0 / L: 4 / F-A: 315-210 / PD: 105

Their commitment and attitude played a pivotal role in shaping a positive team culture through discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. As the term concludes, there is a palpable sense of optimism about the future of this talented group. I look forward to watching them progress and challenge for positions in the 1st and 2nd team next year. I would also like to give a special thank you to all

impact in defence when he was fit enough to play, and was rewarded with a try against UCS in one of the final fixtures. Tiv Thevarajah, who spent the whole season ruled out by injury, should be commended for his attendance at most of the fixtures and training sessions, where he provided valuable insights to support the coaching staff; he was finally fit to play in the final game of the season, but the match was cancelled due to waterlogged pitches. Lots of players have made great strides in their rugby: Marcus Proud entrenched himself in the front row and Morgan Bartlett showed himself to be an intimidating inside
