P: 9 / W: 6 / D: 0 / L: 3 / F-A: 180-91 / PD: 89 The U14A team had a very successful season, winning six of their nine fixtures and finishing with a positive points difference of 89. As is always the case which such a big intake of boys at Fourth Form, the starting XV took a few weeks to finalise, as did the structure and style of play we wanted to base our performances on. An early injury to Shane Morrow, the team’s captain, was a blow, but his absence forced the team to grow and develop. Noah Kerr was instrumental throughout the season and fully deserved his Charter prize. Special mention must go to Demi Olayinka, who won the player of the season for his 12 tries, including a staggering eight in just two games. The whole squad contributed significantly, and the team was fortunate to have such strength in depth on the bench. Highlights of the season include a 10-5 win over Mill U14B P: 9 / W: 7 / D: 0 / L: 2 / F-A: 276-121 / PD: 155 The U14Bs had a brilliant season. Initially, the team comprised a mixture of new-to rugby players with raw athleticism, and club players who could support their new peers’ development in the technical and tactical aspects of the game. Success within youth development spans beyond the score at the end of each fixture, and it was a joy to see the boys’ tenacity in contact and high-quality ball movement. The team was always willing to learn and grow beyond its comfort zone; the boys challenged themselves and each other through every session with pride. The progression from September to December in rugby skills, problem-solving, and team cohesion was exceptional, and I couldn’t be prouder of how the boys conducted themselves across the term. Special mentions go to Munro Todd and Omi Raniga for repeatedly leading the team as vice-captains, as well as Rohan Dilawari for an unwavering dedication to learning the game. Our big hitters around the contact area did plenty of hard graft for the team: Ethan Clewlow lour tackled everything he could see, while Pellis Papadopoulos and Ben Yang ran themselves into the ground for the badge. Mr C. A. Tod
Hill School, a fantastic team performance against Reading Blue Coat under lights (35-0) and despite losing to a very strong St Albans 12-20, the team demonstrated real tenacity and pride to win the second half 12-3. Mr G. D. Roots
