have surrendered to happiness. Thank you to all who played, to the wonderful Dr Hetherington, and the parents for their unstinting support. Mr M. W. S. Hale Squad: E. Affan; D. Assani; S. Datta; H. U12C The U12C’s success this season has come not in the form of consistent victories, but certainly through attitude to learning, good sportsmanship, and camaraderie. They had spirited competition versus Hampton, which was such a thrilling way to open their cricketing careers at MTS. It went down to the final ball which was hit for 1 run, leading to a win by 4 wickets. Well done to the consistent, calm partnership of Vihaan Khandelwal and Arav M (MTP). MTS players also showed good-natured competition and decorum despite the high drama. We came close to defeating Whitgift, which is no mean feat at this level. Most notably, the team showed dignity and moral fibre when put in challenging situations, and they have been a credit to the School throughout. Arav Ramesh was our standout all-round player and captain, along with excellent attacking play from Adi Arun, Jai Janahan, Archit Ramdeo, Aman Sivanesan and Veer Patel. We have also seen other players develop and get promoted, with Hrim Dave and Raiyan Yaqub both progressing to the B team, while players like Anay Garg, Shivesh Joshi, and Aditya Hinduja made considerable progress over the term. This squad still has progress to make in their bowling and fielding accuracy, but they have been an extremely friendly and committed group of sportsmen, and many will be making appearances in U13B/C team matches next year. Mrs Stuteley and Ms Smith have greatly enjoyed working with and getting to know the squad this year, and wish them well in their cricketing futures. Ms L. V. Smith

they fell in the last over. Our bowlers performed exceptionally well under the pressure of some aggressive batting. Significant innings have been played by Samar Sekhon (48*), Rayaan Alibhai (51 & 50 ret), Rishi Mehta (89*) and Rishane Wijeratne (30 ret). Rohan Bist has also made some useful contributions and we are looking forward to seeing him more in the second half of the season. Our bowling has also been strong, and a tremendous number have made significant contributions, including notable performances by Rishi Mehta and Arjun Natarajan. Amitav Thakur has made exceptional progress and has trained really well. Yashas Pail, Salar Minhas, Aditya Pillai and Eshan Chauhan are all working well and developing as bowlers. Rishane Wijeratne and Omkar Vaidya have both kept wicket well. We look forward to seeing Arjun Natarajan (MTP) again next year – he Squad: R. Mehta (Capt.), R. Alibhai, R. Bist, S. Datta, Y. Pail, S. Sekhon, A. Thakur, S. Minhas, A. Pillai, E. Chauhan, O. Vaidya, R. Wijeratne, A. Natarajan. U12B The first half of the U12B’s cricket season commenced in good order with a fine victory over a doughty Hampton side at Sandy Lodge. There then followed a rather chastening loss at Whitgift that proved something of a watershed moment for the side. The boys resolved to tighten up the batting, and to field and bowl in an aggressive and positive manner for the remainder of their fixtures. This approach resulted in fine victories against Reading Blue Coat, Haileybury, and Bedford Prep, which bodes well for the second half of the season. All matches have been played in the right spirit and with no small skill. One can only hope that the boys will remember this season long after they have forgotten “the packs and sects of great ones, that ebb and flow by the moon”. They have made some good friends and played some splendid cricket and, by doing so, is a talented all-rounder. Mr C. R. Evans-Evans
