New Head Master appointed

Mr Sam Baldock will become Head Master of Merchant Taylors’ School in September 2026, following the planned retirement of Simon Everson, who has led the School since 2013 and will continue through the 2025–26 academic year. Mr Baldock, currently Vice Master at Bedford School and formerly Acting Head Master, studied Natural Sciences at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, before a brief career in commercial research. He spent ten years at Westminster School as Head of Biology, later serving as Assistant Head at Mill Hill and joining Bedford in 2018 as Deputy Head (Academic). He will be the 33rd Head Master in the School’s distinguished history.
