The squads also picked up several other accolades including: VEX VRC MTS_Myopians - Think Award for high quality programming. MTS_Legends - Build Award for high quality mechanical engineering. VEX IQ MTS_Megabyte - Create Award for outstanding notebook and creative engineering solution to the game challenge. World Championships This spring, both our VEX VRC (senior) and VEX IQ (junior) squads represented the UK at the Vex Robotics World Championships in Dallas, Texas. MTS_Myopians and MTS_ Legends represented the senior squad and MTS_Myopians, MTS_WindowCleaners, MTS_Revengers and MTS_Tempest represented the junior squad.

thrilling victory over an outstanding MTS_ Legends. When all was said and done, we were delighted that MTS_Myopians were crowned the UK National Champions by winning the Excellence Award, which is the highest award presented in the competition. This award is presented to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a high-quality robotics program, including design, robot skills and team conduct. It was then the turn of our younger squad, VEX IQ, to compete. The tournament was superb and a real rollercoaster from match to match, but once again our teams battled hard and worked tirelessly throughout the two days. Four of our five teams in this division made it through to the finals, and it was a nail-biting finish filled with high tension. At the end of the tournament, MTS_ Tempest were also crowned UK Champions by winning the Excellence Award for their age category.

National Champions In March, ten of our VEX Robotics

competitive teams travelled to the Telford International Centre to compete in the UK National Finals. It was a long, busy season, with our teams competing at over twenty regional tournaments before getting to the finals. Our older squad, the VRC teams, competed in a gruelling schedule over two consecutive days against the best sixty teams from around the UK. Teams came from as far north as Glasgow and as far south as Dover. As you would expect, the standard was incredibly high, and the competition was incredibly tough. Our teams did very well throughout the tournament, maintaining their robots, developing code and working on game strategy. All our teams made it through the round of 16, beating stiff competition from experienced competitors. Two of our teams met in the quarter finals, with MTS_Excalibur claiming a narrow-but
