U13B Our first match of the second half of the season was a convincing 96-run victory against the Prep School; Akash Dhana scored a half-century and Barnaby Greet Smith fell just short of one, and we bowled them all out for 46 runs. Our second match was a six-wicket defeat to St Albans; having been bowled out for only 49 runs, a good spell of bowling was simply not enough to defend such a low total. We then went on to beat The Beacon by 39 runs: after a tough first innings of batting we made an excellent comeback, bowling The Beacon out for only 43 runs. The most exciting match of the season was our last, an epic tussle with Magdalen College School, which we won by three wickets. Daro Beck helped the team home, and Aran Fevzi got three wickets. Although the season was mixed overall, they showed excellent progress in their bowling and fielding and secured two excellent wins in the second half. Mr B. J. Simpson Squad: D. Beck, V. Birla, K. Bhuva, C. Cutt, R. Dattani, A. Dhana, L. Emini, A. Fevzi, B. Greet-Smith, N. Halai, J. Hazan, Z. Hussain, I. Malik, V. Sidhu, T. Souesi, Z. Wang, O. Wright. U13C The U13C team’s fortunes in the second half of the season were mixed. They put on an impressive performance against The Beacon, producing some masterful bowling and limiting their opponents to just 83 runs. Daro Beck took three wickets in his first over, while Mikael Khan, Pranay Patel, and Umar Khan also bowled superbly. The team batted very well and we comfortably eased past the opposition. Unfortunately, we then came up against Haberdashers’ and lost by 68 runs. Despite the defeat, the team put in a spirited performance, with Krish Naik and Mikael Khan showing good composure at the crease. Umar Khan showed his trademark competitive spirit, and there were spells of good bowling from Ibrahim Malik, Pranav Shah, Tom Harvey, Rayyan Taha, and Aviral Aggarwal. Zain Lakhani was a solid presence as wicketkeeper.

U13A The season was all about player development and hopefully the side learnt new skills and improved throughout. The fielding improved, especially after some excellent sessions from Minesh Patel, our coach. We managed to keep most oppositions to the allotted overs with a mixture of tactical bowling and generous field positions. In truth, few sides were a match for us this season. We had a good run in the Middlesex Cup and a comfortable win in the final. The last few matches saw a very tired team struggling to get through their twentieth match of the season. It was lovely to see so many parents supporting the boys around the boundary. Our thanks go to: Scott Paterson for producing such excellent wickets and a beautiful playing surface; Minesh Patel for his expertise, wise words and patience; and of course, Mr McGowan, Director of Cricket for organising such a wonderful season. Mr C. R. Evans-Evans Squad: S. Spight (Capt.), V. Birla, A. Bhasin, K. Bhuva, N. Bridge, A. Dhana, S. Embleton, H. Lamb, A. Parekh, D. Patel, P. Sen, M. Wanniarachchige.

Sanderson and Somaiya set the tone for the innings, with three more batsman passing 20; Jai Elangovan’s 29 was the highlight for the neutral observer. In the field, the U14Cs offered their most consistent performance of the season with almost every bowler chosen by Roetjens taking a wicket in his first or second over. Faced with Sam Dhir’s line and length, Haberdashers’ were unable to establish any substantial partnership and it fell to Rajdev to conclude the match with a looping delivery, his first of the match! In the final game of the season Dulwich elected to bat – a risky choice on a greenish, slow wicket. Karan Shah and Sam Dhir both bowled well and were ably supported by Rodrigo Carruthers Hintze on debut. Fielding was much livelier and more organised, with fewer errors and sustained pressure. Hridai Somaiya rose from his sick bed to bat beautifully, working the ball around the field and running so well that by eighth over we were 70-0 and the game was effectively over. It was left to Jai Elangovan to strike a classy 34* to take us to victory. Well done to the team for turning round a poor start to the season by finishing unbeaten in the matches after half term. Dr A. R. H. Clarke Squad: D. Lakhani (Capt.), S. Dhir, J. Elangovan, F. Ellis, R. Grimshaw, C. Haley, O. Isherwood, V. Kashyapa, S.
