Concordia Winter 2022
Class Notes
Ian Roberts (Class of 1997) Building the Julian Hill Indoor Cricket Centre will need the support of our whole community and one OMT, Ian Roberts (1992 1997), who is both a cricket fan and a keen ergo rower, came up with the idea of putting his love of cricket and his fitness regime to good purpose. During theT20 2022 World Cup, Ian rowed 500 metres for every England run in theT20 World Cup and will be raising money towards building the Julian Hill Indoor Cricket Centre. He may have dreamt that England would win the World Cup but was it a dream to be rowing 424.5km – the distance between Merchant Taylors’ School and Newcastle – in 28 days? Ian completed the challenge in time to celebrate with OMTs at the Annual Dinner, having lost 13lbs in just under a month! So far the challenge has raised just under £1,000.
